Saints vs. Jaguars: Week 6 NFL Picks & Game Predictions

The New Orleans Saints are the fashionable NFL Choice for good reason — and for Sundays game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It is official: We are at the ranch here on the Gardner Minshew bandwagon. The Jacksonville Jaguars (2-3 SU, 3-2 ATS) happen to be profitable after five near-complete games from their backup quarterback, after the busted collarbone Nick Foles suffered early on through their season opener. Minshewmania is runnin !
Then again, Teddy Bridgewater. The New Orleans Saints (4-1 SU, 3-2 ATS) have won three straight SU and ATS because their backup QB took over for Drew Brees, who is out indefinitely with a broken thumb. And with their superior defense and special teams, it seems like the Saints will be the appropriate NFL choice as 1.5-point road dogs for Sundays contest (1:00 p.m. ET, CBS).
To support our theory we turn into our favorite sources for non-proprietary (i.e. complimentary ) computer projections:

FiveThirtyEight: New Orleans –3.5
Jeff Sagarin: New Orleans –3.93, 46.39 complete

That is pretty encouraging. A caveat, however : old-school betting principles are the better option. Really, the enlarged consensus reports at press time reveal 63 percent of ancient bettors on the Saints, a documented public group, while 51 percent of the amount wagered is about small-market Jacksonville. This game was a selectem in the start, incidentally.

Were not scurred. A bet could be right in the face of the early patterns, and awarded the between Brees and Bridgewater. But, it does not seem to be that large of a drop-off. Bridgewaters efficiency numbers at Football Outsiders are somewhat above league average. Since it ends up, sample sizes issue.
Minshews numbers have been better, mind you. The mustachioed one rankings No. 8 overall in death DVOA through Week 5, 1 step before the almighty (and also hirsute) Aaron Rodgers. However, Jacksonvilles defense has been poor, especially on the earth. Losing Pro Bowl CB Jalen Ramsey to a sore back/trade demand is not helping their pass defense, either.

The Saints havent played with defense this season, but they have out-performed that the Jags. While both teams have excelled on special teams, New Orleans has been much better; whereas Deonte Harris has taken one punt return to the home Will Lutz is 11-of-12 on field goals and 10-of-11 on points.

There could be some room to choose theover with this matchup on the posted total of 44down from 45 if the NFL odds first hit on the board. It is assumed to be a hot day in Jacksonville, and neither teams defense has been stellar this year, while the backup QBs have outperformed expectations. But well stick with the Saints here and will the world be together with you.
